Let there be Light

Diffuse or glistening, yellowish or reddish, direct or indirect – light has various nuances that have always been a fascination to artists. In combination with colour, light is one of the elementary design mediums of painting. Thus it is used for the staging of motifs and is partly itself the main object of the works. Several paintings deal with the lighting atmosphere of different weather conditions and times of day. The facets of light are also often a theme in photographs that are already technically photographs. Other artists in turn directly depict lamps in their works and let their art shine this way.
