From 1896 to 1901, Mathilde Battenberg received painting instruction under Ottilie W. Roederstein, then journeyed to Florence in 1901. In 1902, she studied in Paris under Lucien Simon and Charles Cottel. She subsequently resided in Frankfurt am Main. In 1917 an exhibition was held in the Kunstsalon Schames, Frankfurt am Main.
