Out into the Nature

Mighty rocks, dense forests, sap green meadows! Many artists use nature as a setting for mythological and biblical narratives. It also serves as an experimental field for painters to work with changing atmospheres of light. Sometimes artists stage nature as a place of longing, sometimes they explore human cultivation. In the Städel Museum there are landscape drawings, photos and paintings of great impressiveness: time to go out into the nature again.
