About the Work

Glöckner explored three-dimensional shapes formed from surfaces not only in paper “foldings” but also in sculptures. The two objects are made of simple cardstock, folded in several places and then painted white. The artist’s sculptural oeuvre goes back to 1935. That was the year he produced his first Spatial Folding of a Rectangle with which he investigated the presence and impact of a surface as a body in space.
