About the Work

This drawing is a design for the painting of a harpsichord lid and shows how much the theme of Arcadia has been linked to music. In an Arcadian landscape, which is characterised not only by the goats at the edge, but above all by the summery atmosphere, the god of drunkenness listens to the enchanting flute played by the god of love.
