About the Acquisition

Consisting of the elements static_12 and telefunken (frankfurt version), the installation telefunken was developed by Carsten Nicolai especially for the Städel in 2007 and donated to the museum jointly by the artist and the Galerie EIGEN+ART Leipzig/Berlin. EIGEN+ART was founded in Leipzig in 1983 as an unofficial gallery project in the attic flat of Gerd Harry Lybke. Since that time, the core group of artists it represents has remained constant.
