About the Work

For this typophoto montage, Anton Stankowski used all the technical elements of modern advertising photography: set in boldface Grotesk, the two words were exposed separately and printed in a negative montage one over the other. As a result, the overlapping sections of the letters form abstract shapes. Even if its original function is no longer known today, this photographic work represents a successful attempt to create an composition using typographical elements. Thanks to its combination of image and text, it walks a fine line between art and advertising.
