About the Work

Jakob Becker only drew on a very few pages in this undated sketchbook, mostly with pencil, occasionally with black pen. In addition to a house, a tree and two figure studies ‒ a small girl pulling up her overskirt, whose depiction inspired Becker to make several posture and pleat studies ‒ found its way into this sketchbook.
