Biography

Lived in Zurich in 1902. Attended the applied arts school, the Kunstgewerbeschule. Worked in the atelier of the animal and landscape painter Rudolf Koller. Moved to Glarus in 1904, teaching drawing at the public school. Lived in Frankfurt am Main from 1907 to 1922 as a stage designer and freelance painter. Numerous study trips, among them visits to Paris.

Returned to Switzerland in 1939; lived in Zurich and Linthal, later in Ascona.
